All data stays in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
No Transactions Yet

Add your first transaction in the Transactions tab, import a CSV or JSON backup, or load the sample data to explore.

What Is the Finance Tracker?

The Finance Tracker is a full personal-finance app that runs entirely in your browser — no account, no upload, nothing leaves your device. Log income and expenses with categories and accounts, set monthly budgets with progress bars, and read your money at a glance on a dashboard with income/expense/net tiles, a 12-month trend chart and a category breakdown. Export your data as a live Excel workbook (totals recalculate as you edit), a formatted PDF report, CSV, or a JSON backup — and import CSV or JSON right back in.

How It Works

Open the Transactions tab and add entries with date, description, category, account, type and amount — or load the sample data to explore. Filter, search, sort, edit inline, duplicate or bulk-delete. Set monthly limits in Budgets, manage balances in Accounts, and use Export whenever you want your data as a spreadsheet, report or backup.

When to Use It

Use it to run a monthly budget, track spending habits, reconcile accounts, prepare records at tax time, or replace a paid budgeting app with a private, free one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my data stored?
Only in your browser's local storage on your device. Nothing is uploaded or synced. Export a JSON backup to move your data to another browser or computer, then import it there.
What can I import?
JSON backups made by this tool (restore or merge), and CSV files with at least Date and Amount columns — Description, Category, Account, Type and Notes are picked up automatically when present, so most bank exports work.
What does the Excel export include?
A real .xlsx workbook with your transactions plus live SUMIFS formulas for income, expenses, net and per-category spending — edit any row in Excel and the totals recalculate. Type and category columns get dropdown validation.
Can I track multiple accounts?
Yes — checking, savings, credit cards, cash and anything else. Each account has a starting balance, and its current balance updates from the transactions you assign to it.
